The Catalogue of Brazilian Sacred and Religious Music – Works from the 18th and 19th Centuries (CMSRB ) presents the publications of the sacred and religious works written in the 18th and 19th centuries by Brazilian and non-Brazilian composers acting in Brazil.
To date, these amount to 693 publications, spanning the period between the 1840s and the present day. The catalogue is available in two versions: online and print.
Its online version can be updated with new discoveries and publications on a continual basis.
We dedicate the CMSRB to Mercedes Reis Pequeno, founder and ex-director of the music department of Rio de Janeiro’s National Library (Biblioteca Nacional), a pioneer in the research about musical publications in Brazil.
